Library News

This Thursday, April 19, is our Family Movie. It will begin at 3:30 p.m. Call the library for the title at (706) 657-7857.

There will be a Beginning Microsoft Excel class at the library on Tuesday, April 24. There will be one at 10 a.m. and one at 6 p.m. This is a free class, but please call the library to register.

Last week was National Library Week and one day was National Library Workers’ Day. The Friends of the Library showed their appreciation to the staff and volunteers by treating them to lunch last Thursday. Thanks to the Friends who prepared the food. One staff member said she wished every day was Library Workers’ Day.

The library staff is already working on plans for Summer Reading. Besides the weekly program for kids, there will be programs and activities for teens and for adults. Be sure and check this column or our Facebook page for more information on these upcoming programs.

We would like to congratulate Nicole Walters, our youth education coordinator, on the occasion of her marriage. By the time this newspaper comes out, she will be Nicole Lewis. She and her husband, Ryan Lewis, were married on April 15, and will be enjoying a honeymoon in England. The next time you see her, be sure to say “Congratulations!”
