Phillip Lawson

Phillip Eugene Lawson, 52, of Hixson, Tenn., died on Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. Phillip was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and Atlanta areas and a graduate of Northwest Georgia High School. He was a talented and caring person with a passion for helping others. He made many people smile with the gifts of his creativity, his cakes and the celebrations he planned of life’s special moments.

Phillip worked many years in the hospitality industry in Chattanooga and he brought laughter and love to those around him. He was always an advocate for those less fortunate and he spoke up against injustice. Phillip was the biggest cheerleader for his nieces and nephews and he supported them in their life adventures.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ab and Sue Lawson and Bill and Pauline Bradford.

Survivors include his companion, Steve Hixson; parents, Tom and Elsie Lawson; sister, Paula (Randy) Wilkes; brothers, Jim (Beverly) Lawson and Tony (Mellisa) Lawson; the joys of his life, his nieces and nephews, Savanna Wilkes, Grace and Aiden Lawson, Ryan (Nikki) Lawson and Matt (Nikki) Lawson, and great-niece Parker Jane Lawson; his lifelong friend Stacey Goins; his beloved dogs, Pearl and Lee Roy; and many extended family members and friends.

There will be a celebration of his life Saturday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home chapel, Trenton, Georgia.

Family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home.
