Library News: Thanks to Sponsors for Halloween Candy!

October 29, 2017

Was everyone impressed with Alice in Wonderland at the library on Saturday?  Amazing, wasn’t it? Hope your kids enjoyed getting to meet all the characters.

Our Book Club book for November is Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank. This is a post-nuclear holocaust world in the United States. At the time it was written (1959), the threat was very real and people were building bomb shelters in their back yards.

We would like to thank the groups who provided candy for the library’s Trick or Treat: The Friends of the Dade County Public Library and the Southeast Lineman Training Center. Thanks also to those organizations or businesses who set up their own tables at the library.

We still have two complete sets of the Dade County Historical ornaments for sale. A set of 12 costs $150. Dade County Courthouse and Dyer Mercantile ornaments are still available at the library for $15 each.
