Schools Closed Tuesday

After delaying classes two hours this morning after the weekend's heavy rains made flooding a perceived danger in some parts of Dade, Superintendent Jan Harris has chosen to close the schools all day Tuesday because of the threat of severe weather in the morning.


Temperatures in the 20s tonight may cause freezing on roads wet from the rains that have continued to make the outdoors a misery all day today. In any case, Dr. Harris's policy as superintendent has been along better-safe-than-sorry lines.
