The Georgia State Patrol on Friday evening released the following report on Thursday's fatal
I-24 accident in Dade County. The Planet republishes it here verbatim, as follows:
On May 30, at 11:35 p.m., a trooper was dispatched to a reported head-on crash on Interstate 24 West near milemarker 3 in Dade County. While en route, a trooper was notified that one of the drivers involved was deceased and that there were two other injuries from the collision.
During his investigation, the trooper learned that a 2009 Ford Focus driven by Jessica Yarber, age 28, of Rossville, was traveling east in the westbound inside lane. The Focus struck a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta driven by Elizabeth Wilson, age 31, of Wildwood. Ms. Yarber was deceased at the scene. Ms. Wilson and a juvenile passenger were transported to a Chattanooga hospital for treatment. A 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer was also involved in the collision, as it was struck by the Jetta after the initial collision.
This is all the information we have at this time.
The report is not complete.
