General Gene Herron, 83, of Rising Fawn, died on Sunday, July 7, 2019, at his residence.
General Herron was born in Cartwright, Tenn. He was retired from Tipton Steel Electrical and was a member of the Ironworker’s Local 704 (1967 – 2001) in Chattanooga. He was a member of Rising Fawn Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hytha Herron, and siblings, Lois Layne, Charles Herron, Delbert Ray Herron, Frank Herron, Don Herron, Sue Johnson, and Joann Triplett.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Jane Heatherly Herron; three daughters, Melissa “Missy” (Rick) Breeden, Rising Fawn; Laura Herron, Flintstone; Lisa Davidson, Flintstone; one son, Tracy (Macara) Herron, Higdon, Ala.; sister, Anna Mae Martin, Dunlap, Tenn.; several loving grandchildren along with nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, July 9, in the chapel of Ryan Funeral Home with Minister Larry Judd and Minister Jim Shadwach officiating, with interment in Chattanooga National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
