Lavonne Marie Payne Grizzle, 71, of Rising Fawn, died Thursday, June 11, 2020.  She was born in Rising Fawn on July 12, 1948. She was a graduate of Dade County High School, class of 1966, and received her associate’s degree from Hiwassee College in 1968. It was at Hiwassee that she met the love of her life, Steve Grizzle. She also spent much time designing and outfitting her “Strawberry House,” and she showed it off to anyone who came to visit. She was a member of Trenton United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  One of Lavonne’s greatest loves was being an aunt to all of her nieces and nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews. They brought her such joy and she treated each one as if they were her own. She was loved by so many and she will be greatly missed.

Lavonne was preceded in death by her parents, W.C. and Doris Payne of Rising Fawn, and her husband Steve Grizzle.

She is survived by sisters Lorraine (David) Fox and Maureen (Grady) Spencer; brother Roy (Dorothy) Payne; and several nieces and nephews.
